JSON Formatter & Validator
Paste JSON to check that it is valid, make it readable with indentation, or shrink it to a single line. When your browser reports it, errors point to the line and column.
Runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you enter is sent to a server.
How to use it
- Paste your JSON into the box.
- Choose the indentation and press Format, or press Minify for a compact version.
- Fix any error shown, then copy the result.
Frequently asked questions
- Is my JSON uploaded?
- No. It is parsed in your browser and never leaves your device.
- Why does JSON that looks right fail?
- Common causes are trailing commas, single quotes instead of double quotes, keys without quotes, and comments. JSON does not allow any of them.
- What does Sort keys do?
- It orders the keys of every object alphabetically, which makes two JSON files easier to compare. Arrays keep their order.
